A beautiful promise

"Then Jesus came to restore in man the image of his Maker. None but Christ can fashion anew the character that has been ruined by sin. He came to expel the demons that had controlled the will. He came to lift us up from the dust, to reshape the marred character after the pattern of His divine character, and to make it beautiful with His own glory."
-EGW, DOA p. 38.

I was just reading this and I was amazed at what Christ wants to do in our lives! How happy it must make Him when we allow Him to change our hearts and reshape our character. It is my prayer that each one of us will let Him work on our character this week.

I was reading in DOA and I read something about how the prophets KINDLED the devotion of the people and it got me to thinking about how we can be kindling for Christ. We don't have to be big huge logs, we can just be kindling that starts a spark. I want to be kindling. I don't have to do anything big, but whatever small amount I do, I want it to be a spark for God.

cool. That's what all of our blogs should be. lots of folks read them. might as well make them a witnessing tool.

I love your new title Christy!
It's pretty hard to start a good fire with out kindling!

It reminds me of one of my favorite chapters in The Coming of the Comforter!

"From the earliest ages the divine fire has been recognized by God's people as the symbol of His transcendent glory, presence, and power." - The Coming of the Comforter

Jesus promised that His diciples would be baptized with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

When God speaks of baptizing us with fire, He speaks of refining and purifying our hearts. Nothing can cleanse like fire - eradicating self to exalt the Savior.

"I will... refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried; they shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is My people, and they will say The Lord is my God."
Zach. 13:9

You guys have to read the book, cause this chapter talks about how fire:
Reveals
Consumes the Dross
Purifies Internally
Frees From the Cords of Sin
Softens and Melts
Warms and Banishes Chill
Illuminates the Night
Makes Permanent
Energizes into Action
Spreads with Rapidity

The purpose of divine fire is to fire proof us!

Thank you Christy, for sparking my soul! ;)

I like your new blog name too, Christy. It really puts things into focus. We need to let God's love and message consume us entirely. We need to kindle like a flame on fire for Him.
