Alpenglow from the Hills

One of my most favorite aspects of the West (as compared to the East) is the wide open skies and tall mountains.  When these are combined, you get the perfect setting for alpenglow.  Last Sabbath we took a walk with some friends in the hills and were treated to a beautiful sunset reflecting off the San Bernardino Mountains.  The view was marred only by the power lines, but I tried to see them as additional artistic elements in my camera lens.  Did it work?

Yes, it definitely worked! Lovely pictures. Oh, those west mountains... Maine is nice, but boy do I miss my mountains!

Love the perspective of the first photo - thanks for reminding me of my days horseback riding in those hills in the 1960s with my childhood friend. I used to wish I could keep on going south until we hit San Diego, like the early Californians!

I haven't seen anyone horseback riding in the hills lately - - too bad, that would be a great place to ride!
