Destination: Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia

Twelve days ago, I got married.  (Don't worry, wedding pictures will be forthcoming).  And then we went to Canada.  As you might imagine, I was quite preoccupied so the camera wasn't out much but here are some pictures I took during our time there.  :)

The little cabin in which we stayed.  'Twas amazing!

Awesome inside cooking fireplace :)

We spent some time kayaking along the coast

Took some awesome hikes, bushwacks, and explorations...

Drove around small fishing villages.  This was in Cheticamp, a french town on the western shore of Cape Breton.

Baddeck dock:

Explored the Highland National Park...

Drove up to the northernmost accessible point, Meat cove.

A storm was rolling in...

This little guy stayed put for a looong time!  :)

My favorite part:

It was grand.  We lived simply, we cooked, slept a lot, spent time outdoors, and most of all, had the most relaxed, amazing honeymoon ever :)

Awww, I LOVE your pictures. Cape Breton Island is my favourite place east of the Rockies! My parents also went there on their honeymoon and took us kids back with them on their 25th anniversary. Now, looking at your pictures of the places we visited (Baddeck, Cheticamp & Highlands NP), I really miss it. Looks like you guys had a great time!

can you tell me where that cabin was and who to contact? Love that stove.

Sorry, it's a privately owned cabin loaned to us by some friends.

Thanks for the pictures Christy! It looks like you had a lovely time! I love Canada, though, the last time I went to Nova Scotia was when my mom was pregnant with me, so I guess I should check it out now that I can see it :-)

Great pictures, and awesome looking place! I am continuously reminded of the fact that while my expensive camera equipment may look more impressive, my friends still take better shots than i do... :)

Incredible pictures, Christy!!! I think you should copyright your blog just in case an inspired person like myself won't be able to take credit for your amazing eye. ;)

I especially like the boat and sunset pictures.
